Hometown Holiday

Hometown Holiday board members from left to right Karen Jo Agnello, Chris Duran, Roberta d’Ercole, Gloria Jean Young, and President Lynn Smith take a moment to pose for a photo as kids begin to arrive with their taller parental dance partners.

On Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7 and 8, parents and their children came to Brix for dinner and dancing hosted by Hometown Holidays. Friday was the Mother and Son Dance and Saturday was the Father and Daughter Dance.

During each night, Teresa Ochoa was present to teach dance lessons to kids and their parents. Regina DeVaul was also present to do nails for the girls and moms while Kristen Jones did face painting.

Karen Jo Agnello, who helps on the Hometown Holidays board stated the event was not a fundraiser.

“Everyone involved in this event is doing it on their own and volunteered their time,” said Agnello. “This isn’t a fundraiser for us, it’s something we do to give back to the community. This is the seventh year of the Father and Daughter Dance and the fifth year for the Mother and Son Dance.”

Agnello said they look forward to many more years of giving parents such an opportunity to bond with their kids and enjoys seeing everyone having a good time each year.
