History Colorado announces that the “Music on the Lawn” concert series is returning for the summer at the Trinidad History Museum, 312 E Main St., in Trinidad. Live music will be performed on the Bloom Lawn every other Friday starting on May 31 at 6 p.m. and continuing through August 23.
Seven different acts will perform throughout the summer, including nationally-known groups like Good Question and the Apache Creek Fiddlers. The first act, on Friday, May 31 will be the House Band featuring Sam Young.
Each performance will be given from the front porch of the Bloom Mansion, a historic building and part of Trinidad History Museum. Attendees will watch from the lawn in front of the mansion, and are encouraged to bring camping chairs, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets. Food and drink will be available to purchase from the museum. These events will be free and open to the public. This series was made possibly by a grant from the City of Trinidad Tourism Board.
The museum has hosted a variety of artistic features, including the Creatives In Residence program that brings visual artists from across the nation to live and work in Trinidad for a month, to experience Colorado artistic culture. The “Music on the Lawn” concert series serves a similar purpose by bringing performers from many different states and musical traditions to downtown Trinidad.
