On Thursday, July 30, 4H and FFA members hit the arena for the Sheep and Cattle Shows out at the Las Animas County Fairgrounds. Despite health department restrictions imposed during the COVID-19 outbreak, on Thursday, July 30, area 4H and FFA members got to show their stuff as they hit the arena for the Sheep and Cattle Shows out at the Las Animas County Fairgrounds. Pictured at top are Leah and Landis Howell showing their calves to the judge, as their 4H training in showmanship begins. Above (L-R), with a little help Raevyn Odum and junior competitors Lakynn Arnold, Jax Baca, Kaleb Terry and Cole Navarette take to the sheep ring while Owen Doherty continues a long 4H family tradition of showmanship with his entry in the cattle division. Below (L-R) Mckenzie Riddle was a champion with her senior division dairy cow. Jacob Larson shows his skills in the ring for the judges during the showmanship competition.
