In light of the COVID-19 era

In light of the COVID-19 era, Chronicle-News friend, Sitt Nyein Aye has displayed a gentle reminder to those who pass by his place on Hwy 12 west of Trinidad in Jansen.

Local artist and avid photographer Sitt Nyein Aye recently added to his yard art installation on Hwy. 12 west of Trinidad in Jansen.  The display whimsically promotes mask wearing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aye’s sign features masked rock characters and the words “Forget Me Not.” Early during the pandemic, Aye lost a good friend to COVID-19, which spurred him to act and begin the installation. Then, recently he walked to Trinidad and had forgotten his mask prompting the phrase “Forget Me Not.”

Although he is a champion of mask wearing, Aye said even he could be “more complete,” and hopes his art will inspire others to be more cautious.

Born in 1956, Sitt Nyein Aye is a Burmese artist. Aye came from a small village, near Nyaung-U Township in Upper Myanmar.
