Trinidad Rotary Club distributes dictionaires to area students

Since 2003, the Trinidad Rotary Club annually distributes dictionaries to 3rd grade students in Las Animas county. The Dictionary Project is part of a nationwide Rotary Club effort to improve literacy for children and their parents. The Rotary Club finances the dictionary project through the proceeds of its annual summer golf tournament at the Trinidad Municipal Golf Course. The annual project benefits third-graders at Fisher’s Peak Elementary, Holy Trinity Academy and Grace Christian School in Trinidad, as well as students in the Aguilar, Branson, Hoehne, Kim and Primero elementary schools. Principals and teachers in all of the schools have been enthusiastic participants in the giveaway. Primero school students who were recently given dictionaries include front row (L-R) Tevin Van Der Plaat, Ryleigh Poole and Sadey Armstrong, and back row (L-R) Brooke Gollaher, Alexa Maldonado, Angelyssa Susco, Tristen Holt, Abram Dominguez, Jeremiah Montoya, Bailee Gollaher and Teacher Jamie Odum. Class member not pictured is Addyson Dunlap.
