Two are dead after a single-vehicle rollover accident on Tuesday morning before 10 a.m. near Exit 23 on southbound Interstate 25, five miles north of Trinidad.
The Colorado State Patrol (CSP)is withholding names until next of kin are notified, but reported that the two fatalities were one 33-year-old male and one 31-year-old female, both from Ignacio, Colorado.
Two juveniles were also injured in the crash: a five-year-old female and a 13-year-old female.
The two killed in the crash were not wearing seatbelts, while the two juveniles were properly restrained, according to CSP.
According to CSP, the 2001 Tahoe went off the left side of I-25 and the driver over-corrected sending the vehicle back onto and off the road again on the right side, where it eventually rolled and ejected the driver and front-seat passenger. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The CSP says the crash remains under investigation.
