The Trinidad City Council and the Las Animas County Commissioners will be hosting the third annual Winter Legislative Roundtable from 9:30 a.m. to Noon on Monday, Dec. 9, at the Sullivan Center’s Pioneer Room at Trinidad State Junior College.
The roundtable will cover community wide topics in Las Animas County (LAC): opioids and substance use disorder issues affecting the community, Trinidad State Junior College education initiatives, updates concerning Trinidad School District No. 1, homeless issues, recent impacts to the LAC Health & Human Services Department and updates regarding the Space to Create project in downtown Trinidad and finally, Fisher’s Peak.
Elected officials participating in the roundtable will be the Trinidad City Council, the Las Animas County Commissioners, Colorado State Representative Kimmi Lewis, Colorado State Senator Larry Crowder and representatives from the offices of Congressman Ken Buck, Senator Cory Gardner and Senator Michael Bennet.
This meeting is open to the public and everyone is invited to attend. Comments will be limited to the roundtable participants, but the audience is invited to submit written questions for the panelists and presenters.
