A Trinidad woman allegedly robbed an employee at the Sonic Drive-Inn restaurant located at 642 W. Main St. and was arrested by Trinidad Police at approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 15 and is being held at the County Jail on a $45,000 cash or surety bond. Bonnie Leiba, age 54, was arrested for felony counts of Aggravated Assault, Assault in the second degree, Menacing, Aggravated robbery, False imprisonment and Theft, plus a lesser charge of Driving under restraint, according to information from the Trinidad Police Department.

Allegedly, Leiba followed the Sonic carhop into a public restroom at the restaurant on Saturday, robbing the employee of cash while discharging a Taser. Reportedly, the Sonic employee was robbed of an indeterminate amount of cash.
