On Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 18 and 19, the Mt. Carmel Youth Choir, under the direction of Connie Pallone, Toni Mangino and Geneva Villegas gave their annual holiday concert at Mt. Carmel’s chapel to a full crowd both nights. The group of students from across several schools works throughout the fall semester to learn the art of singing and prepare a free public concert. This year, Pallone stated they had to add a concert.
“We had so many people that have attended our concerts in the past that we had to add another performance so that everyone could see it that wanted to,” said Pallone. “Parents and family are so supportive of their kids, it shows when we have a performance.”
This year, the name of the concert was “A Christmas Wish” and featured the choir and several vocal soloists.
New this season, the program received choir robes and next season Pallone stated they would come back in full force for their Spring Concert.
“We are hoping to grow our numbers for the next season,” said Pallone. “We will begin rehearsals on Tuesday, Jan. 14 for the spring show.”
