On Tuesday, December 17 around 10 a.m., the City of Trinidad experienced a power outage throughout much of downtown. The Chronicle-News was informed this was due to transformer and power line issues.
In a press release issued by the city, Interim Manager Mike Valentine asked that everyone including businesses, minimize power usage as much as possible.
“In order for the City of Trinidad to make power available, two circuits are being temporarily combined into one circuit,” said the release. “Without usage reduction, the city could experience a prolonged power outage.”
The city also asked for patience as they work to resolve the issue in a timely manner.
