On Thursday, Nov. 7, The Youth Club of Trinidad partnered with Trinidad Kiwanis and ABC Disability Support Group to host Sweet Dreams In a Bag, a 501(c)3 public charity out of Denver founded by Susie and Wayne Fox in 2010 that provides new bedding, tooth brush, personalized book and a stuffed toy for kids in a cozy package said the program’s website.

“To date they have gifted over 12,000 children,” said ABC Disability Support Group Chair and Co-founder Elizabeth Lyles. “At our event we gave 38 local children new bedding, and had a total of 40 children gifted, two were unable to attend.”

The Youth Club of Trinidad Executive Director Sadie Brown said she was very pleased to be able to partner with other local organizations to host the event.

“We’re so happy to be able to help kids in our community have a comfortable nights sleep,” Brown said. “The Youth Club is always looking for ways to offer as much as we can to the youth in our town, and partnering with other caring organizations is always a joy as well.”

The bedding was excitedly received and greatly appreciated stated Lyles.

“This means so much to the families as well as the children that received the bedding,” Lyles said. “Many of the children hugged their new bedding, and were just excited to have been able to experience something so special.”

The event was so successful, Lyles and Brown stated they would be hosting again.

“We are looking to host another sweet dream in a bag event in January,” said Lyles. “If you know of a family in need, please reach out to us. You can call us at 719-220-4558 or email us at abcdisability.group@gmail.com.”
