Graduates of Trinidad High School (THS) who apply to Colorado State University (CSU) and enroll as new freshman in the Fall semester, immediately following high school, graduation automatically receive the Alliance Partnership Award.
The award is $4,000 per year, payable up to 10 semesters. CSU selected only 10 Colorado high schools to partner with and THS was fortunate to be selected.
First year students receive ongoing support through the Community for Excellence. Individual meetings with assigned scholar contacts occur in student’s first year. Students connect with additional campus resources as needed.
Trinidad High School students are encouraged to visit CSU and participate in an experience tailored to specific interests and activities.
Students are also encouraged to participate in summer educational programs at CSU such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Institutes, Women in Construction Management, Social Justice through the arts and Communication Institute. The Alliance Partnership provides funding assistance for Institute.
Alliance Partnership hosts meetings in the fall and spring semesters with all 10 Alliance Partnership high schools and on-site visits with individual schools to address schools’ changing needs. Alliance also provides consulting and presentations, such as college application assistance.
THS graduates who choose to attend a Colorado Community College in the fall can apply to CSU when ready to transfer. Transfer students also receive the Alliance Partnership Award.
