On September 12, 2019, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Trinidad Police Department Communications Center received a report of a male party at Trinidad High School with a gun.The school staff immediately put the schools on lockdown.
“The teachers and staff followed the lockdown procedure very quickly and it was really a textbook execution of the protocol,” said Chief Charles Glorioso.
Officers responded to the school and quickly located and detained the suspect. The male juvenile did not have a weapon and was then released to his parents.
After a search of the school and grounds, no other threats were located and the lockdown was lifted.
