On Friday, August 30, Trinidad Police investigated a weapons report at Burger King at 3:46 p.m. Burger King manager told police that a gun was found in the restroom. Officers confiscated the weapon.
On Sunday, September 1, a call was made reporting shots fired at 9:03 p.m. in the 1100 block of Robinson. Upon investigation, officers concluded the sounds were not from gunfire but from fireworks being set off nearby.
Arrests over the weekend include Noah Esquibel, age 29 for violation of a protection order, Joseph Rodriguez, age 27, for theft, and Alfredo Valdez-Martinez, age 41, for DUI and driving a vehicle the wrong way on a one-way street on Friday, August 30, Monty Gaddy, age 64, for DUI and careless driving on Saturday, August 31, and James Mitchel, age 47, for felony menacing on Sunday, September 1.
Other arrests over the weekend included six warrant arrests.
