Area roads packed with snow

Monday evening, Dec. 14, brought with it up to nearly 5 additional inches of snowfall in the Trinidad and surrounding areas from the weekend snowstorm. Even snowplows couldn’t uncover some of the solid white snowpack on the roads as seen here on the Highway of Legends west of Jansen near Trinidad Lake State Park. The snowpack will likely lead to dangerous road conditions as it melts and refreezes Tuesday night into Wednesday so drivers should be extra cautious as they get out and about.
