The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and other authorities detonated a bomb outside of Trinidad after arresting 40-year-old Joseph J. Romero Tuesday, March 2 in Trinidad in connections with two previous bombings less than a month ago.

Romero is being held without bail on unrelated felony warrants including burglary and felony theft. Trinidad police said the bomb Romero’s arrest lead them to was in a rural area and its detonation “was no danger to the public.”
