Trinidad Police Department and Las Animas County Sherriff Office responded to about 523 calls between Thursday, June 17 and Wednesday, June 23 with about 367 falling under TPD and about 156 under the sheriff’s office including auto thefts, DUI, menacing and accidents.

Tela Tish Almarez, 25, was charged with second degree burglary and theft between $50 and $300 for an incident alleged to have occurred Wednesday, May 19 in the 500 block of East Main Street in Trinidad. Law enforcement took Almarez into custody at the Las Animas County Courthouse Thursday, June 17 after she was done in county court for other charges. She was given a $15,000 cash or surety bond and is due in Las Animas County District Court for a return filing of charges Wednesday, June 30.
