The Las Animas and Huerfano County health department is hosting pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics in La Veta and Gardner on April 5.
In La Veta the clinic is being held at the 4H barn (401 Moore Ave.) from 9 a.m. to Noon. In Gardner it will be at the community center (28 County Road 632) from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The health department said walk-ins will be accepted, but encouraged the public to register by calling 719-738-2650, or online at https://la-h-health.stg.colorado.gov/coronavirus/covid-19-vaccine.
“Let’s work together to protect our families and neighbors,” said the health department. “When it’s your turn, and you choose to get the vaccine, you’ll know you’ve helped protect yourself and others. And that you’re doing your part to help end the crisis caused by the pandemic, to save lives, and to help our state recover.”
The health department was tracking 14 active cases of COVID-19 in Las Animas County and nine active cases of the virus in Huerfano County as of Wednesday.
