Nickolas Sanchez, 19, shot a man at the 500 block of State Street last Thursday, May 7 and was arrested later that day and charged with criminal attempt at murder in the first degree, felony menacing, and reckless endangerment.
The male, suffering from a single gunshot wound, and as yet unidentified, was transported from the scene by ambulance and later transferred to a hospital up north according to Trinidad Police Department Captain Dan DuRan.
“Officers are currently investigating the incident with several parties being transported to the Trinidad Police Department for interviews,” said DuRan. “There is no threat to the public.”
After contacting TPD Friday, May 15 requesting a report and additional information, DuRan said there would be no additional information or arrest report shared until later this week, as they were busy working on another case.
