Greg Sund, president of the Trinidad Rotary Club announce this week that the Trinidad Rotary Club has scheduled its annual dictionary fundraiser golf tournament at the Trinidad Municipal Golf Course for Friday afternoon, June 14. The day’s action will include the usual scramble plus hotball play.
In announcing the event, Sund said, “We are once again raising funds to help pay for the Illustrated Scholastic Children’s Dictionary distribution to all third grade students in Las Animas County. This is the 16th consecutive year the Trinidad Rotary Club has participated in the dictionary handout.”
There are approximately 170 third grade students attending the various public and private schools in the county. A dictionary is personally handed to each student by a member of the Rotary Club each year during the month of December as a person gift intended to help in the development of literacy skills.
Anyone wishing to play in the golf tournament, sponsor a team, sponsor a golf hole or contribute cash or gifts to the fundraiser may do so by contacting any Rotary Club member including Shirley Donachy, Fred Vaugeois, Sharon Sciacca, Bonnie Aaron, Jim Blecha, Dennis Scott, Buss Sawaya, Carol Patrick, Stan Obrey, Penni Saeedi, Janna Remington, Mike Dixon, Melodie Lansga, Andrew Hofman, Lori Hoffman or Jeff at the Trinidad Municipal Golf Course clubhouse.
