This year’s version of the Trinidad Labor Day golf tournament was played with a ‘step-aside’ best-ball format requiring each player of each three-man team to tee off with the option to select whose drive will be used. The remaining two players play the second shot and team members alternated following each tee shot and played the round accordingly.
It was the first time in the 89-year history that the tournament was not played utilizing match play. Fifteen teams of three each participated. All players were handicapped.
