Ethel Trujillo

It is with great sadness to announce the unexpected passing of Ethel Trujillo in Colorado Springs Co. on January 20th, 2022. She was born June 20th, 1946, In New Mexico to Joe and Frances Trujillo from Sopris CO. She is survived by Sisters Becky Nolnasco “Tony Nolnasco” Sherry Trujillo, her eldest son Ted Abeyta “Adele Abeyta”. Her daughter Ethelann Abeyta and spouse Monico Castellano. Granddaughter Mandy Phillabaum (Daniel Phillabaum) Granddaughter Camilla Romero, Angelique Abeyta and Celeste Abeyta (Dayton Romero) also Nathan Abeyta. She had three great grandchildren Luke Phillabaum, Daniel Phillabaum and Lillianna Phillabaum. She was preceded in death by her father Joe Trujillo and mother Frances Trujillo. Brothers Alfred John Trujillo, Leo Trujillo, sister Massie Trujillo. Also, husband Theodore Abeyta and Son Adam Abeyta. In Ethelʼs young life she loved to make tortillas and be with her family as time went on, she worked at many places in Trinidad such as a cook for local schools, teachers aid and a personal care provider.

Bar Ni Ranch opens Spring grant cycle for non-profits, now taking applications

The Bar Ni Ranch Community Service Fund announced it has opened its grant application process for the spring 2022 cycle. The fund will primarily consider grant applications for supporting specific programs and activities, although grant applications for capital campaigns and for general support are sometimes — but not usually — granted.
