FORT COLLINS — Despite snow falling in many regions of Colorado recently, most of the state is still experiencing drought conditions after an abnormally dry period at the end of last year, according to the National Drought Mitigation Center. Trees in urban and community settings are dormant now, but still require occasional watering during winter to remain in top health.

The air temperature hadn’t risen much from the night before by the time people started taking the plunge into Trinidad Lake last Saturday, but that didn’t stop people from doing it anyway. I was sure by now God, You would have reached down And wiped our tears away Stepped in and saved the day And once again I say, “A-men” and it’s still rainin’ But as the thunder rolls I barely hear Your whisper through the rain “I’m with you” And as Your mercy falls I’ll raise my hands and praise the God who gives And takes away CHORUS And I’ll praise You in this storm And I will lift my hands For You are who You are No matter where I am And every tear I’ve cried You hold in Your hand You never left my side And though my heart is torn I will praise You in this storm I remember when I stumbled in the wind You heard my cry, You raised me up again But my strength is almost gone How can I carry on If I can’t find You? But as the thunder rolls I barely hear Your whisper through the rain “I’m with you” And as Your mercy falls I’ll raise my hands and praise the God who gives And takes away REPEAT CHORUS I lift my eyes unto the hills Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord The maker of heaven and earth I lift my eyes unto the hills Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord The maker of heaven and earth REPEAT CHORUS .
Last week our world was rocked by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, a sovereign Democratic nation that has resisted Russia’s attempts to pull it into its orbit. When I was pastor of an English speaking church in Nuremburg, Germany, we often had visitors from Ukraine. Since I started writing this column, I have received more than 2,000 online views in Ukraine.
On your second birthday in heaven. He is gone from us forever, But in our hearts he will always be; ʻTil some day we too will join him, In the heavenly abode of our Lord.
