Las Animas County Republicans held their county assembly last week during which all candidates running for local positions gained enough support to secure spots on the 2022 Colorado primary ballot and state and national candidates spoke to their constituents in hopes of gaining delegate support at the state convention.
In the Mar. 25- 27 Weekend Edition of The Chronicle-News in the story entitled “Man who stabbed victim 13 times in local parking lot sentenced to 8 years in prison” the assertion the court could have sentenced Tyler Ray Oaks to probation under the plea agreement was incorrect. His attorney told the court about wanting to restructure the plea agreement to include a chance at a form of probation, but under the plea agreement he faced between 5 years and 16 years in prison with a prosecutor recommendation of no more than 10 years.
It probably wasn’t the smartest move you’ve ever made. Eh, it was actually pretty dumb but you were young, inexperienced, parsimonious, brash, uninformed or bullheaded and over time, you’ve learned to own that oops.
