Get ready for fun! Chief Comedy & Bicycle Festival to return this May — includes live local performances, adds comedy show train ride to Raton

The COVID-19 pandemic impacted stand-up comedy for a time, there is no question about that. As comedy clubs shuttered their doors and people moved meetings online, so did comedians who shifted their acts to accommodate the situation by hosting online comedy shows, just as The Chief Comedy & Bicycle Festival had to do when it shifted its performances outside to Trinidad’s streets last year.

—Editor’s note: Since the COVID-19 pandemic put a monkey wrench into the plans of many people that has kept them from getting out and about and socializing with each other, you’ll be pleased, no doubt, to see that some things are slowly beginning to return to normal. Prescribed burns, wildfire mitigation planned for Comanche National Grasslands in southeast region of state for next few weeks

Officials at the Comanche National Grassland announced this month that they plan to conduct prescribed burns in Southeast Colorado to run through mid-April as conditions permit. The burns started earlier this month and include planned burns in Las Animas, Crowley, Baca and Otero counties to include 4,200 acres.
