No injuries were reported due to a house fire in the 1000 block of Boulevard Street in Trinidad Tuesday night, according to a fire official. Trinidad Fire Department Chief Dave Bacharach said that the two occupants of the home evacuated before resources arrived.

Local police arrested a Trinidad man on suspicion of first-degree burglary and other charges after responding to a home invasion on Sunday, April 24. Trinidad Police Department arrested Craig Steven Gavett (41) on suspicion of first-degree burglary (a class three felony), harassment (a class three misdemeanor) and criminal mischief (a class one petty offense) — after making contact with him inside of a residence in the 600 block of South Indiana Avenue.

The Las Animas County Sheriff’s Office responded to or initiated some 114 calls between April 14 and April 20, including an accident, suspicious incidents, fireworks and sexual misconduct.
