At exactly midnight on Thursday, April 7, 2022, Mildred “Millie” (Aragon) Lopez passed away at the age of 84. She was called home after a short and blessedly pain-free battle with pancreatic cancer.

The Primero Bulldogs competed in the Thunderstorm Invitational Track Meet held in Pueblo at the CSU-P campus on Saturday, April 9. Despite facing athletes from 4A and 5A schools, the Bulldogs were able to make themselves known in their events.
The Trinidad Workforce Center held the Youth Rocks Job Fair and Career Development Day at its location at 140 N. Commercial Street in Trinidad Thursday, April 7. The three-hour event saw at least 80 student participants from five area schools including, Goal Academy, Trinidad High School, Aguilar Jr./Sr. High School, Hoehne High School and Trinidad State College. Students had the time to talk with numerous local businesses and groups about job opportunities, including the City of Trinidad, Trinidad Lake State Park, Trinidad Aquatic Center, Las Animas Grille, The Café, Trinidad Inn Nursing Home and others. KARVAL — Mountain Plover Festival organizers announced today that the festival will be held this year, after being cancelled for the past two years due to the pandemic. It will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 29-May 1, 2022 in Karval, Colorado. The tiny hamlet of Karval is located in Lincoln County in southeastern Colorado.

Les was born in Trinidad, CO where he grew up on College St. with his father Roger, mother Ermelinda, brothers Eugene and Roger, and sister Jeanette.
Edward Clarence Marquez, follower of the Way went to be with his Eternal Father on March 31, 2022. He is preceded in death by parents Tony and Stella and brother Ron. Claris survived brothers Tom; Rick (Charlotte); Chris (LucyAnn); sister Diane. Also by wife Odel, children and grandchildren: Clayton, (Dana), Sophia; Katherine, (Jeremy); Jamie (Joey), Chloe; Georgie Anne, CaeZaun. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Rosemary and Lisa; Penny; Valerie (Bill); David; Christopher (Jessica); Richard. Numerous cousins and friends.
DEAR ABBY: My husband passed away four months ago, after battling cancer for years. He declined in a month, and we chose hospice at home. (I did not find them particularly caring or helpful.) This was even more depressing because it happened during COVID.
