Robert “Bob” Cappellucci

Robert “Bob” Cappellucci passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022 in El Paso, TX. Bob was born on October 10, 1934 to Helen and Frank Cappellucci of Hoehne, CO. Bob graduated as Valedictorian from Hoehne High School in 1951. He went on to receive a Bachelorʼs degree from Colorado A&M (now CSU), in Fort Collins, CO. Following his college graduation, Bob served in the U.S. Army.

Area crime & emergency report for May 26 — June 1

The Trinidad Police Department responded to or initiated some 279 incidents between Thursday, May 26 and Wednesday, June 1, including, a shooting, accidents and multiple welfare checks. The Las Animas County Sheriff’s Office responded to or initiated some 139 incidents in the same time frame, including, multiple traffic violations, DUI enforcement and illegal dumping. Due to the Memorial Day holiday police call logs could not be obtained before deadline.

CPW launches Keep Colorado Wild Pass public outreach campaign

Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) announced this week the launch of a public outreach campaign to engage with Colorado residents, in particular disproportionately impacted communities, and educate the public about the availability of a $29 Keep Colorado Wild Annual Pass during their annual vehicle registration through the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
