Some 200 local volunteers came out to honor and place flags on the graves of the many veterans who are buried in the Catholic and Masonic Cemeteries in Trinidad. Saturday was a perfect day for the annual placing of the flags on the graves of local veterans that began the Memorial Day Weekend filled with special services celebrating the Las Animas County Veterans who served their country. Memorial Day was filled with special services that celebrated the Las Animas County veterans who served their country — some paying the ultimate price for our freedom.
