The City of Trinidad is under Level 1 water restrictions as drought continues to plague southeast Colorado with moderate to extreme drought conditions. Fire starts Friday at PCMS, grows to 1,608-acres
A fire was first sparked on Friday at the Pinon Canyon Maneuver site near Model and has grown to 1,608 acres according to estimates. Dubbed the “Black Hills” wildfire, officials think the fire was started around 6 p.m.

Area crime, emergency report for June 9 — 15
The Trinidad Police Department responded to or initiated some 294 incidents between Thursday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 15, including warrant arrests, accidents and violations of protection orders. The Las Animas County Sheriff’s Office saw 135 incidents during the same time period, including, harassment, a prowler, accidents and thefts.
