Hail hits the bricks hard in Trinidad

At 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, the City of Trinidad got clobbered with a strong deluge of rain and pounding hail that ranged in a variety of sizes from pea size to golf balls. Trees that line the streets downtown were stripped of their leaves and there were reports of hail damage to a number of area vehicles. Thank you Quinton Niccoli for sharing this photo with all of us. City council members offer two ballot measures for Nov. General Election

Trinidad is proposing two ballot measures that it says will benefit both the city and the public if passed during the 2022 General Election. City council still needs to approve the measures before they are sent to the Las Animas County Elections Office — but Councilmembers Eli DeBono, Erin Ogletree, Frank Shew, Naemon Thurman, Aaron Williamson and Mayor Phil Rico all showed support for the measures at a recent council work session.

Add the pasta and cook as the label directs; drain and rinse under cold water.

CDOT begins $43M replacement project of 17 structures in southeast Colorado

The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin replacement efforts of 17 structurally deficient rural structures in southeastern Colorado (dubbed the Region 2 Bridge Bundle Project). The 17 structures, many bridges, are located on three separate essential corridors in southeast Colorado — Colorado Highway 9, United States Highway 24 and United States Highway 350.
