Helen M. Armijo

Helen M. Armijo (Moose), Age 82, passed away on Tuesday June 28th surrounded by family. She was born in Trinidad, Colorado on May 7, 1940 to John B. Armijo (Freckles) and Jennie S. Armijo. She was raised in a large loving family with 10 brothers and sisters. She was a strong woman, often stubborn, but she was very protective of her family and friends. If she loved you, she took care of you.

Bi-county region sees increase in community COVID transmission rate

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has upgraded COVID-19 community transmission levels for Las Animas and Huerfano Counties after the bi-county region experienced a rise in cases. The Las Animas-Huerfano Counties District Health Department said in a release June 30 that Huerfano County has moved to “high” COVID-19 community transmission and Las Animas County has moved into “medium” transmission.
