Sunflower showoff . . .

Perhaps some of the most charming features of summertime in Las Animas County are the vibrant and sometimes massive displays the area sunflowers provide for the eyes of the beholders. This colorful and perfect speciman stands in the yard of Model rancher and avid photographer Abel Benavidez. Benavidez planted it from seed where it quickly grew into this huge beauty.The bees love it — we all love it! Thank you Abel for sharing your great photo with us.
