Caring, remembrances, fun at Relay for Life

On Saturday, Aug. 6 ROAR for Relay for Life held their annual Relay for Life event at Central Park in Trinidad. The event raised over $14,000 to fund cancer research and patient care programs. Relay For Life is a community-based fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. Participants took part in games and contests like the ones pictured above, a Survivor Dinner the Luminaria Ceremony (pictured at right) and a closing ceremony. Above participant took part in a bubble gum contest with Malheim Romero in first place Brody Doherty in second place and Michael Richardson in third. At right, Jim Laplatt enjoys the Survivor Dinner and above participants relay on the track at Central Park.

Last chance to see who-dun-it production this weekend

Benjamin Mandile Reporter The Chronicle-News Murder at the Orient Express, a who-dun-it play being performed at a local theatre, saw rave reviews during its first weekend of shows and will be closing this weekend after another three-day run. The who-dun-it production, originally written by Chicago playwright Craig Sodaro, boasts a similar name to Agatha Christi’s 1934 Murder on the Orient Express, but tells a different story.
