Police: four people arrested, 610 grams of drugs seized
Chronicle-News Law enforcement seized over 600 grams of illegal narcotics last week after serving multiple search warrants over a two dayperiod. Trinidad Police Department arrested four people and seized 610 grams ofnarcotics, four guns and a “large” amount of cash, according to a release from the department.
COVID cases decline in bi-county region heading into August as state cases increase
Chronicle-News The bi-county region saw a decline in COVID-19 cases between late July and early August, according to the most recent data from the Las Animas-Huerfano Counties District Health Department.

Weddings are special events — marriages are lifelong relationships that take time, effort
Last week our 19-year-old grandson came to visit so he could participate in his best friend’s wedding. Weddings are exciting: handsome groomsmen lined up in their tuxedos, the groom nervously looking for his bride, bridesmaids in matching dresses, the flower girl and ring bearer announcing the bride’s entrance, and then, the bride, adorned for her husband. All of this followed by a reception with good food, joyful singing, and dancing.

James Thomas Trommeter was born on June 24, 1967 and went home to our Heavenly Father on July 29, 2022. Jim was the seventh child born to Dorothy and Edgar Trommeter.

The Trinidad Police Department responded to or initiated some 351 incidents between Thursday, July 28, and Wednesday, August 3, including shots fired calls, harassment, traffic stops and welfare checks. The Las Animas County Sheriff’s Office call logs could not be obtained due to office schedules.
Thriving in Trinidad: Writer considers inspiration
It may or may not have been noticed that I haven’t submitted any material for a while. I have been avoiding the phrase, “writer’s block,” using the rationale that if I can at least start with an idea and get maybe halfway through an article then it must not be writer’s block.
