Dear Editor, It states in the Bible, “to love thy neighbor as thyself.” (Matthew 22:37-39) Clearly in today’s world of politics, there are those that heed to a different motto — “All is Fair in Love and War.” Personally, I’m tired of the latter. I believe this nation needs more of the love.

A change in political climate?

Dear Editor, As the political climate has changed over the decades, so has my party affiliation. I’ve been registered as a Republican and as a Democrat and am now an unaffiliated voter. As I witness the disintegration of our democracy and our personal liberties, I’ll be voting for respect and empathy.

Know who you’re voting for

Dear Editor, We are getting close to the November Elections. Ballots will begin to show up in our mailboxes after Oct. 17. If you are eligible to vote, it is your right and responsibility to register with the state of Colorado to cast your ballot. It is your right and responsibility to inform yourself about the candidates and the issues to be voted on. Every registered voter receives a “Blue Book,” the 2022 State Ballot Information Booklet, which gives non-partisan details and pros and cons regarding each amendment and initiative to be voted on.
