Canyon’s offensive name change makes its way through discussion — new name considered
A proposed name change of a Las Animas County canyon that currently bears an “offensive” name is making its way forward with continued discussion of the matter. No official action has been taken to change the name of the canyon, currently called “Chinaman’s Canyon,” but proponents of the name change reiterated their desire for the name change and the potential new name — Toisan Canyon — during a recent Colorado Geographic Naming Advisory Board meeting.

Adeline Maniscalco
Adeline Maniscalco, age 85, passed away at the Trinidad Inn Nursing Home on October 20, 2022. She was born on July 3, 1937, in Delagua, Colorado, to Tony and Rose (Caputo) Bragazzi. She graduated from Trinidad High School in 1955. Adeline started working at the local phone company as an operator along with two of her sisters. She then went on to work at the local movie theatre (The Rialto) and finally Adeline worked for Brocato Cleaners before becoming a stay-at-home mom.
