Colorado health insurance rates are set to rise next year — but some people could still pay less

Prices for people who buy health insurance on their own are set to increase next year in Colorado — but not quite by as much as initially proposed. When insurers first filed rates with the state this summer, they requested an 11% increase in premium prices in the individual market, which is the category of the health insurance market that covers people who buy insurance without help from an employer.

Denver-based micro finance nonprofit expands to southeast Colo.

Rocky Mountain Microfinance Institute (RMMFI), a nonprofit that seeks to create space for communities and people of all backgrounds to realize their unique potential through the power of entrepreneurship, is expanding to southeast Colorado. RMMFI is running a series of free classes in the region, starting this week, designed to teach entrepreneurs how to start and grow thriving businesses, as well as develop their own leadership skills.
