It’s been over 12 hours since polls closed in Colorado (as of this newspaper’s deadline) and the race for Colorado’s Third Congressional District is still too close to call. Democrat Adam Frisch is leading incumbent congresswoman Lauren Boebert by just 3,475 votes at deadline (51% to 49%), but it is still unclear how many votes were left to count in the district that spans the Western Slope, through southeast Colorado, Las Animas County and Pueblo.

A Colorado Snowsports Hall of Fame inductee and a nonprofit working to bring family skiing back to the Cuchara region are partnering to make the dream a reality, along with working to offer outdoor youth initiatives for regional students. Chris Anthony, a professional skier and filmmaker, and Panadero Ski Cooperation, a nonprofit working to reopen Cuchara Mountain Park, are teaming up to bring convenient ski access and youth outdoor initiatives to southern Colorado.

Aguilar School District RE-6 celebrated Homecoming the week of Oct. 20. Royalty was announced during the La Veta volleyball games, and a dance was held on Saturday, Oct. 26. Former Aguilar High School Homecoming Queen and Miss Colorado, Dawna Jo Avila, returned to crown the new king and queen.
Each month, Primero’s teachers, administration and staff select students from the various grade levels to recognize as Students of the Month. Primero’s Students of the Month are selected based on outstanding attendance, stellar grades and diligent work ethic. These students serve as role models for the student body and shine as examples of good character within the community.
