Las Animas County dispensaries sold some $2.8 million of recreational marijuana in October, the last available data, according to the Colorado Department of Revenue, representing the sharpest decline since summer 2020. County-based dispensaries sold $2,858,957 of marijuana in October, a 6.9% decline from September sales, and a 44% decline from October 2021, according to an analysis of state marijuana data.

Las Animas County and the City of Trinidad have started preliminary discussions that could lead to a partnership between the county and city concerning Perry Stokes Airport, but nothing has been finalized as of yet. Officials from both groups have said that the details of what the collaboration would entail, and who would be involved, are still up in the air — but both have said they have interest in working together on the airport.
The addition of nonfarm jobs and low seasonally adjusted unemployment gave Colorado’s November jobs and economic outlook a positive lift. The state’s employers added 4,300 nonfarm payroll jobs from October to November for a total of 2.9 million jobs, according to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.
