‘Tell the truth’: Shedding new light on the Sand Creek Massacre with an exhibit 10 years in the making

Waylon Rogers emerged from the exhibit at the History Colorado Center in Denver with his 18-month-old daughter, Ailani, squirming playfully in his arms. A tribal leader for the Northern Cheyenne, he had just finished touring the museum maze that tells the complex story of the Sand Creek Massacre — for the first time, in the words of the people still deeply scarred by the 1864 military slaughter of more than 230 mostly elders, women and children.

TPD nabs two during traffic stop, finds nearly 12 ounces of narcotics

Trinidad police arrested two suspects on suspicion of drug distribution during a traffic stop and confiscated nearly 12 ounces of methamphetamine, fentanyl, heroin and cocaine. TSD1 stops consolidation discussions

San Isabel Electric Association: $5 residential access charge increase coming in 2023

San Isabel Electric’s Board of Directors approved a change in the cooperative’s rates that will increase the monthly grid access charge as follows: • $5 increase for residential and small commercial rates • $20 increase for large commercial rates • $80 increase for industrial rates There is no change to the grid access charge for accounts with an electric storage time-of-use rate or to accounts on the pump rate. There is no change to the energy usage charge for any rate class (the kilowatt hour – kWh rate).
