Ringo’s, energy company provide through holiday meal giveaway

Tis the season to be giving back to the community — with toy and food drives abound in the community — and that’s just what two more community businesses did this month to celebrate Thanksgiving. Evergreen Natural Resources, a local gas production company, and Ringo’s Super Trading Post, a small county grocery store chain, organized their third annual Thanksgiving meal Wednesday, Nov. 23, serving 60 meals to Las Animas County families.

Frisch shares thoughts heading into recount

I want to share an update following Wednesday’s Secretary of State announcement of a mandatory recount. Since the results were so close, we have been expecting this as a mandatory part of Colorado’s voting process. The recount is one of the measures that protects and helps ensure the sanctity of Colorado elections and the decision to conduct a recount is (rightfully so) not influenced by any campaign or candidate. I have said from the beginning that I will honor the certified results of the Colorado Secretary of State, and Coloradans deserve to have this legally mandated process take place.

Our life has not been the same since we lost our mom, Barbara Lovato on September 16th, but today we celebrate all the things that made her special. Happy Birthday to our mom, who would have been 88 years old on December 4th. We love and miss you very much.
