State issues report on statewide tour to discuss climate change

In collaboration with several state agencies, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Air Pollution Control Division has published a report following its statewide climate change listening tour. During sessions, Colorado residents shared their experiences with climate change and discussed opportunities for state and local collaboration.

Sally Lorraine Cole

Sally L. Cole, 73 passed away peacefully in her home December 22, 2022. She was b o r n September 30,1949 in Trinidad, CO. The daughter of Eloisa and Kelly Simpson. Sally worked at the Trinidad Nursing Home, was a wonderful Mother to 4 boys and enjoyed spending time with her husband of 38 years, Bob. Sally loved to play softball in her younger years and as she got older she loved t o f i s h a t Monument Lake and spend time with family. Sally was a wonderful Grandmother, her 2 grandsons were the light of her life.

Jennie Chavez

Jennie Chavez, 82, of Trinidad, Colorado, went to be with the lord on December 17, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 17, 1940, in La Junta, Colorado, the daughter of late Al and Beatrice Pacheco. She was one of 5 siblings; Ramona, Anthony, Lawrence, Gilbert, and Linda. She was married to Flavio Chavez, her husband of 57 years. She attended and graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic School. Throughout her career she worked for numerous doctors' o f f i c e s , as a receptionist, which she later retired from.

Colorado governor commutes 4 inmates’ sentences, pardons 20 people, including state trooper who guarded Capitol

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis on Thursday evening cut short the prison sentences of four inmates and pardoned 20 people, including a former Colorado State Patrol trooper who guarded the state Capitol and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge after pointing a gun at a passing driver near the Denver building in 2021 while he was on duty.
