Elliot-Casaus III makes court appearance for alleged Jackson Street murder involvement

A Trinidad man accused of participating in the murder of a Trinidad woman on Jackson Street three years ago appeared in Las Animas County District Court this month. Roy Allen Elliot-Casaus III, who faces one count of accessory to a crime (a class four felony), appeared in Las Animas County District Court Tuesday, March 14, for an appearance on bond.

Trinidad leadership approves $359K in marijuana expenditures stemming from Q4 2022 taxes

Trinidad City Council issued its final approval of marijuana sales tax expenditures stemming from 2022 sales, approving some $359,000 in requested expenditures from Q4 2022 marijuana sales taxes. The city collected $509,768 in marijuana sales taxes during Q4 2022, a 44.5% year-overyear decline, and an 11.4% decline between Q3 2022 and Q4 2022, according to an analysis by The Chronicle-News.
