Trinidad passes goal of funding 100 affordable workforce units

The City of Trinidad has surpassed its goal of creating 100 additional housing units by 2024 to “rejuvenate” the local housing market, according to a city consultant facilitating the initiative. Through the city’s ongoing Housing Now Incentives program, which provides direct financial assistance to qualified developers and property owners working to bring affordable workforce housing to Trinidad, the city has fund- ed 11 projects —with the potential to add 115 newly activated units, with 62 of those being deed restricted.

Pandemic funds brought grief care to more Colo. students

A groundbreaking bereavement service is expanding efforts to reach kids where they are: in schools, churches and other community sites. Emily Napier, community-based care team manager for Judi’s House, which has been providing comprehensive grief care for more than two decades, noted one in 14 Colorado youths will experience the death of a mom, dad, sister or brother by age 18.
