The Colorado Senate on Wednesday unanimously approved a bill that, if made law, would pave the way for local governments to offer their taxpayers either temporary property tax credits or mill levy reductions.
Trinidad City Council has set a public hearing for tomorrow concerning a $323,000 expenditure request from the Trinidad Power & Light Department. The hearing, set for Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Trinidad City Council reviewed some $359,000 in marijuana sales tax expenditure requests during a recent work session, including $25,000 to support Noah’s Ark Animal Welfare Association’s shelter. The review is the first discussion council has held to allocate marijuana sales taxes stemming from Q4 2022, during which the city collected a total of some $509,000 in marijuana taxes.

DEAR ABBY: I know a young newlywed couple who just had their first baby. The baby is weeks old and isn’t crawling yet. My concern is that they have a box turtle for a pet in their small apartment. They’ve had the turtle for probably a year and, while it has a cage, they often let it loose in the kitchen. I don’t know if it has reign over other parts of the home.
