TSD1 invites community to learn about drug dangers

School administrators in Trinidad continue to work to curb drug use in the community and have invited the general Trinidad community to a presentation focused on the latest dangers of drugs. The presentation, which will be given by “nationally-known” speaker Lynn Reimer, will cover abused substances, including legal and illegal drugs, plant material and synthetic “designer drugs,” Michael Guadagnoli, assistant principal at Trinidad Middle School said.

CDOT, partners launch distracted driving video contest for high school students

The Colorado Department of Transportation is launching a statewide video contest for high school students to create a public service announcement on distracted driving. Students are invited to create their own anti-distracted driving video for the chance to win money and be featured in CDOT’s awareness campaign.

Hoehne, Kim/Branson teams advance to regionals

Local high school basketball teams entered district playoffs across the region last week, with everyone vying for the win and the chance to play another day. Trinidad, Raton, and Primero saw their seasons come to a close — while Hoehne and the girls from Kim/Branson earned golden tickets to Regionals.
