Body camera shows LASO deputies tasering bystander during 2022 traffic stop, victim plans to file federal civil rights suit against sheriff office

Body camera footage shared with The Chronicle-News shows Las Animas County deputies tasering a bystander of a traffic stop in late-November 2022, and now the victim plans to file a federal civil rights lawsuit against the Las Animas County Sheriff’s Office. Council revives decorum amendment proposal after city staff develops prelim regs

Trinidad City Council revived a discussion to institute official rules of decorum for its meetings after city staff presented preliminary rules during an April study session. The discussion comes after Trinidad City Attorney Les Downs raised the idea to institute rules during a late-November study session last year, following multiple verbal attacks against Trinidad City Council.
