Council rezones Capitol Hill lot moving E-bike business forward

An E-bike business proposed to set up shop in Capitol Hill is one step closer to opening its doors after Trinidad City Council approved a rezoning proposal. The owners, Denei Thomas and Johnny Rivera, saw the proposed zoning amendment pass in early-April, after approaching the city to request it change the zoning classification for a land parcel in Capitol Hill from Medium Density Residential (MDR) to Community Commercial (CC).

Trujillo Fire: 10% contained, crews to run helo attack until winds prohibit

Wildland firefighter crews battling a fire in Trujillo Creek have contained 10% of the fire and have containment line around the entirety of the fire, according to a Thursday briefing from Las Animas County Emergency Management. The fire has grown to 120 acres, according to a Wednesday night infrared flight, and additional hotshots from Sacramento, Calif., were expected to be arriving on site Thursday — raising the firefighter count on the incident to around 100 people.
