Opioid settlement funds to be allocated to organizations in southeastern Colorado, LAC county commissioner major part of effort

Last week, September 17, during the Las Animas County Board of County Commissioners regular meeting, commissioner Felix Lopez spoke about the allocation of funds from the ongoing litigation Colorado had against the pharmaceutical companies, which saw hundreds of millions of settlement funds go toward the state to compensate for the harmful effects opioid addiction caused.

City financial report paints unsettling picture as declining marijuana sales, unexpected expenses, contribute to decline in revenue
